Event July 12: Picnic at Victory Park

The Plan:

Picnic in Victory Park in Albion Saturday July 12

Grilling begins at Noon

Adult Games:  Bocce Ball, Frisbee Golf, Ladder Ball, Bean Bag Toss…Eating

Kids Activities: Face Painting, Scavenger hunt, Pine Cone feeders, Play Area by Pavillion

We Provide: Lemonade and Water, Plates, Cups, Plasticware, Napkins, Condiments

You Provide: Meat to grill and dish to pass

We hope to see you there.  Feel free to invite and bring friends and family.  Everyone is welcome.

There will not be a 2030’s event on June 20th.  Sorry for the confusion.

Our next event will be on July 12th at Victory Park in Albion.  Keep your eyes open for more information.

Mystery Dinner

On Saturday May 3rd the 20/30’s group at FBC had a Mystery Dinner.

The event was a blast.

First thanks to Lisa, Kate, and Jo for their hard work and planning. They are an amazing team and really have a blast planning these events. Please note that they do have an opening on the team if you are interested in planning future events.

Conversation filled the room before the meal. We were soon seated and our servers came with menus of which we ordered from. The trick was that we had no idea what we were ordering. The first course came and many people received their dessert first or were without silverware and had to resort to eating with their hands. Overall the food was great, the conversation was great, and everyone really enjoyed each other.

The night ended with a game of Battle of the Sexes. Guys against girls. The guys squeeked out a victory.

Thanks to the junior high servers and babysitters, Ellen Keehn, and Lorie Harris and everyone else who made this event possible!

Blessing Part Two

There are many of you who still have not posted what you have done with the money entrusted to you in January at the Gathering.  Thank you for those who have posted.  See the original posting below.  Leave your comments here or on the first blessing post.

At the Gathering on Friday the 18th we processed the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. Each person is entrusted with abilities, gifts, skills, resources, etc. Each person is also surrounded by opportunity to be an advocate for good. At the end of the night envelopes where passed out to each person. In the envelope, the amount ranged from $5 up to $100. Each person was told that there was two conditions on the money.

1. It must be used to impact someone’s life.

2. You must share your story.

Join us for a “Mystery Dinner” you never know what is going to be served.  Ordering is even a mystery you may order something you think is your fork, but end up with your dessert.  Then after your mystery dinner subsides join us for a Battle Of The Sexes.

What We’ve Been Up To

It seems like it has been a long while since you might have heard anything about the 2030 ministry.

On May 3rd at 5pm there will be a Mystery Dinner occurring at the church.  Come hungry.

We are working on a new format for the Gathering and will be announcing it soon.

There will be a meeting if you are interested here soon to pray over and brainstorm a bit for the 2030 ministry future.
